It is with great pleasure that the EFM team congratulates Associate Finance Director, John Devaney, on being elected as the new President of CPA Ireland and Business Development Director, Áine Collins, on being elected as the new Vice President of CPA Ireland.
John is an experienced finance professional who, following his training in Ireland, has followed a successful career path primarily in blue chip and global pharmaceutical industries but also in working with start-ups and SMEs, including completing an MBA at the University of Warwick. John has proven management skills including leading finance teams across four national subsidiaries of a global company.
Áine is a Financial and Strategic Business Advisor having worked as Financial Accountant for over 25 years. Advising across several sectors with a skill in the SME area and a keen interest in start-ups.
As an entrepreneurial visionary leader and a qualified accountant, Áine has a proven track record in working with businesses to overcome challenges in developing business strategies and implementing them across their organisation, resulting in business growth and greater efficiencies and outcomes.
What is CPA Ireland?
CPA Ireland is one of the main Irish accountancy bodies with 5,000 members and students. The CPA designation is the most commonly used designation worldwide for professional accountants and the Institute’s qualification enjoys wide international recognition.
The role of the Institute is to:
- Regulate CPAs in accordance with the law and the Institute’s Code of Ethics in the public interest.
- Ensure that CPAs are constantly up to date in all matters relating to their professional work.
- Maintain the highest levels of educational standards for new entrants to the profession.
- Represent the interests of our members where appropriate.
